The Indian version on the Note 4, however, is likely to come with Snapdragon 625 as Xiaomi has been banned from selling MediaTek-based devices in the country.

Xiaomi is likely to launch the fourth edition of the popular Redmi Note series in India in early 2017.

The Chinese smartphone maker would launch the Redmi Note 4 by mid-January, say reports. The phone had debuted in China in August this year. The company has, however, not confirmed any launch event.

Xiaomi had claimed that it sold more than 2.3 million Redmi Note 3 devices in the country; International Data Corporation (IDC) said that the device was the most successful on the online channels.Specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

The upcoming Redmi Note 4 is expected to be powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor.

A report also suggests that the phone is expected to come in 4GB RAM variant too.
