New Delhi: At the WWDC 2016, Apple announced that iOS 10 will finally allow users to get rid of the built-in apps which they don't use.
However, what the tech giant didn't explicitly mention was that users will only be able to 'remove' them and not permanently 'delete' them.
On its official support page, Apple lists the number of apps, 23 of them, which can be removed from the home screen in iOS 10, but it no where mentions that users can't really delete them.
Like the way other apps are deleted, the built-in apps can be also be removed by tapping on the icon till it jiggles and then pressing the 'X'. The removed apps can also be restored from the App Store. This is possible because when a stock app is deleted, it loses its configurations but its binary file remains in the system.
The company further lists the number of complications that could arise if the built-in apps like Music App and Contacts are removed.
