WhatsApp Will Now Label Forwarded Messages to Keep a Check on Fake News
The feature is expected to be rolled out to all the WhatsApp users soon.

WhatsApp will soon roll out a new feature that will make it easier for its users to distinguish forwarded messages. In an effort to curb fake news, Facebook-owned chat platform has been spotted testing out a feature that labels forwarded messages shared on the app as ‘Forwarded’. As of now, the feature has not been rolled out to the stable version of the app and can only be found on its Beta version (2.18.179).

With the roll-out of the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to identify forwarded messages. For this, whenever a user forwards a message on the chat app, the message will be labelled on the top right corner as ‘Forwarded’. As of now, no toggle option for the feature can be spotted on the beta version, indicating that this will be a permanent change on the app after its rollout.
