Samsung might reportedly introduce its Galaxy AI features to its mid-range smartphone models i.e. the Galaxy A-Series soon. The company rolled out its artificial intelligence features including Circle to Search during the launch of its flagship smartphone S24 series earlier this year. Later, the South Korean tech giant announced to add the AI features to its other S and Z series devices and now it is coming to the A-series smartphones.
As per a report by Sammobile, the AI features will be introduced to the devices like Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35, but with some limitations. Not every Galaxy AI feature will be released for these devices. However, currently, there are no updates about which features will be included and which will be excluded.
Reportedly, Samsung may avoid features that require on-device processing power as A-series devices lack a processor with a dedicated NPU. Galaxy AI features like Instant Slow-Mo require strong NPU and GPU abilities to operate at a minimum processing speed of 16.6 milliseconds for 60fps films. This is the same reason why the Galaxy S24 FE missed out on this feature despite having Galaxy AI.
Also, the company has still not announced when the Galaxy AI will be available for the Galaxy A55 and A35 users. It is expected to roll out with the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is anticipated to land on these devices this month or the next.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 5G smartphones were launched in March this year. The Galaxy A35 5G is available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, while the Galaxy A55 5G offers 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB options. We have already seen AI features come to the mid-range segment with the likes of the Realme 13 Pro Plus, OnePlus Nord 4 and the Oppo Reno 12 Pro, albeit most linked to the camera and editing features. But these brands give more than one reason for Samsung to make a similar push.
