India's GSM Mobile Subscriptions See Jump of 5.55 Million In October
At present, Airtel owns the maximum market share of GSM mobile subscribers (33.13 per cent).

India's total GSM subscriber base for October 2016 GSM grew to 791.62 million, a jump of 5.55 million, as compared to the previous month.

Airtel continued to hold on to the top position in October and added another 2.33 million subscribers, taking its total subscriber base to 262.67 million. Meanwhile, Vodafone followed with 201.90 million subscribers and Idea Cellular with 180.25 million subscribers.

At present, Airtel owns the maximum market share of GSM mobile subscribers (33.13 per cent).

Uttar Pradesh East added the maximum number of subscribers (72.46 million) in October. Maharashtra came second with 67.45 million mobile subscribers, with Bihar coming a close third with 67.41 million subscribers. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh leads in the number of new additions with 0.77 million new subscribers in the month.
