CES 2024 is on the horizon, and as with every year, there are a variety of devices to look forward to. However, one category at the event that is particularly exciting is health-tech devices. This year, we are kick starting things with a new device by Withings called ‘Beamo.’
It has been unveiled ahead of the event, and it is a four-in-one home health checkup device that can scan the heart and lungs by combining a thermometer, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, and EKG into a single device.
This ‘multiscope’ device is priced at $249.95 (around Rs 20,800) and allows you to take Electrocardiograms (ECG), measure blood oxygen levels, and even use its stethoscope to monitor lung and heart health.
Withings claims that Beamo can provide a full-body scan in under a minute, checking for fever, infection, and heart problems such as irregular heartbeat. This feature should make it easier to diagnose health issues and monitor your overall well-being.
Additionally, the device allows you to transfer audio recordings of your lung scans from the stethoscope to the Withings app on your phone. This functionality enables you to listen to the audio later and even share it with your healthcare provider.
While this device may not differ significantly from others, such as the Apple Watch, what sets it apart is the combination of different functions in a single device. It’s important to note, though, that the device is still awaiting FDA approval. However, the company estimates that it should be available for purchase in June of this year.
