CES 2018: Intel Presents New-Gen Processor With Onboard AMD Graphics
The first PCs equipped with a new-generation processor from Intel, which features a built-in AMD graphics chip, are on show at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Intel has unveiled its eighth-generation Core processor complete with built-in AMD Radeon RX Vega GPU. In total, four variants have been presented, with clock speeds ranging from 2.8 to 3.1GHz. Visitors to CES can appreciate the processor's power first-hand since the first PCs equipped with these revolutionary new processors are on show from HP and Dell.

One of the first such PCs is the new HP Spectre x360 15, 2018 edition, which comes in one version loaded with the new processor. This 15.6-inch laptop has a touchscreen and a stylus for quick note-taking. In terms of spec, customers can choose an SSD of 256GB to 1TB in size, and 8 to 16GB of RAM. Battery life is announced at over 12 hours. The new HP Spectre x360 15 range is slated for release in March 2018 starting from $1,370 in the USA.

Apart from this, chip giant Intel has announced that two million vehicles from BMW, Nissan and Volkswagen will use Mobileye Road Experience Management (REM) technology to build and rapidly update low-cost, scalable high-definition maps throughout this year. Intel bought Israeli sensor and chipmaker Mobileye last year for $15 billion. In a keynote address at the "CES 2018" here on Monday, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich highlighted how data is transforming the world around us and driving the next great wave of technology innovation -- from autonomous driving to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Virtual Reality (VR).

Krzanich unveiled Intel's first autonomous vehicle in its 100-car test fleet, the company said in a statement. He also announced new collaborations with SAIC Motor and NavInfo to extend crowd-sourced map building to China. Focused on the future of AI, Krzanich announced a partnership with Ferrari North America to use Intel's AI technologies to apply data from the racetrack to enhance the experience for fans and drivers.
