Google has consistently topped the ranks when it comes to employee happiness and satisfaction. The tech giant’s workplaces spread out across the world boast of a unique culture that has helped Google attain the top spot in the ‘best companies to work for’ list year on year. The Mountain View headquarters of Google alone offers an extravagant combination of Google colours and themes used in its facilities like Basketball court, valet parking, putting green, gardens, Android park, restaurants and what not. Other Google complexes around the globe have been known to sport an underground tunnel theme, egg-shaped pods (as isolated work spaces), rock climbing walls, music rooms and the list is endless.

Considering the 72,000 plus employee size and the rate of growth of the technology company, positions under various job profiles keep opening up. Here is a list of six jobs under different profiles that are currently offered by Google in India to those with a Bachelor’s degree.

1. Interaction Designer

Being an Interaction Designer at Google requires one to come up with ways to transform the complex tasks into easy-to-use designs for the Billions of Google users around the world. The Interaction Designer has to work closely with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the designing process of various Google entities like Google Chrome OS, Gmail, Google Docs and more.

The job requires a minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in the field. Preferred qualifications for the job extend to post-graduate degree and experience in designing web/ mobile interfaces.

2. Partner Engineer, Google Cloud

This Google job requires collaboration with Google Cloud sales team to provide assistance to the enterprise clients of Google Cloud services. This requires both a technical and a business skill set for the Google Cloud Partner Engineer to be the POC between Google’s clients and its internal technical team.

Google has put up a minimum qualification of a BA/ BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or its equivalent practical experience. It also requires experience with Linux, PaaS, IaaS, Big Data technologies and technical sales in a cloud computing environment. Additionally, preferred qualifications mention experience in Machine learning, IoT, enterprise networking, software lifecycle and more such related areas.

3. Language Manager (Hindi)

As a Multi-National Corporation, Google constantly looks for more local connect in the various countries in which it operates. This task is performed by Google’s Technical Services, a global support and operations team that aims to provide support to the Google consumers, advertisers, partners, publishers and at other such fronts that operate locally.

The responsibilities mentioned for a Language Manager are to guide internal translation teams for vendor assistance, build and implement localization strategies and to ensure high-quality products to local stakeholders. The job requires a minimum of a BS/ BS degree or equivalent practical experience, experience in professional Hindi use, experience in a senior team leader role and the knowledge of English and Hindi languages. Preferred qualities include an MBA or a Master’s degree and excellent communication skills.

4. Cloud Consultant, Professional Services, Google Cloud

Being a Google Cloud Consultant necessitates working with the Google customers on critical projects and providing them with management, consulting and technical help for proper implementation of cloud solutions. This is to be done by developing architecture solutions for migration to cloud computing for the Google customers. The job profile also enables the employee to shape Google’s long-term product strategy.

The minimum qualifications listed for the job are: a BS degree in technical/ engineering field or equivalent practical experience, knowledge of software codes, experience in developing cloud solutions and 2 years of experience in building complex Big Data solutions. The job also requires the candidate to travel both domestically and internationally up to 40 percent of the working hours.

Google would prefer the candidate for this job position to have experience in account management, client service, big data, Banking, Financial Services, System design, project management and an additional BS/ MS degree in Computer Science or a similar field.

5. Corporate Operations Engineer

A Corporate Operations Engineer at Google is supposed to cater to the computer hardware and software support that a Googler may require. The job profile mentions front-end technical support to in-house Google teams and to Google corporate users. One can also contribute to the long-term Google projects in order to improve their overall user experience. The job also requires frequent travelling for IT support.

In order to apply for this position at Google, one requires a minimum of a BA/ BS degree or equivalent practical experience, 4 years of project/ team lead experience and an experience of troubleshooting issues for Linux, Mac and Windows OS. Preference will be given to those with experience in ‘Python’ coding language.

6. Hardware Operations Engineer

As a hardware operations engineer, one is required to install and maintain the hardware used around the Google’s workplace, including servers, server software, networks., routers, switches, hubs, bridges and networking protocols. Additionally, the role requires resolving Linux OS based issues and those with broken equipment and providing real-time assistance at the required time.

Google has put up a BA/ BS degree or its equivalent practical experience comb9ined with 5 years of experience “working with and troubleshooting HW/network related issues using Linux based tools” as the minimum qualification required for this role. Since the job requires manually setting up servers and more such hardware components, the ability to lift 50 lbs of equipment as required is a must. Other necessary qualifications are an experience of working in a data center or a server room and the ability to read and write English fluently.

Preferred qualifications for the role mention a knowledge of Linux environment, networking and fluency in Hindi or Marathi language.

7. Strategic Cloud Engineer, Google Professional Services

A Google Cloud engineer needs to work closely with a team of web developers and systems administrators and also with regional and international clients in order to solve technical issues and overall grow the Google Cloud business. The person at this role would help Google clients in designing a successful Cloud business through proper distributed systems development, cloud native transformation and more.

An applicant for this role would require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. Along with this, 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining internet scale production-grade solutions in virtualized environments, experience in software development in computer languages like C++, Java or others is also required.
