Vijay Sethupathi Reveals What Makes Him Do Bold Choices As An Actor

Vijay Sethupathi, one of the highly accomplished actors in Indian cinema, is looking forward to his film Merry Christmas. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, this film will release at the cinema halls on January 12. The Merry Christmas team is busy with the promotions of the film. Recently, the team participated in one of the promotional interviews with Film Companion. A clip from that interview had surfaced on social media. In the clip, Anupama Chopra, the host, asked how Vijay makes fearless choices as an actor. Vijay replied," When I was in Dubai, I was in love with my wife." The Vikram actor further said he asked his wife Jessy Sethupathi for marriage within a week of chatting with her on Yahoo Chat.

Vijay said he did that without even proposing to Jessy and married her five months after his return to India. According to Vijay, why would he think before selecting films if he didn’t give the decision of marriage much thought? The audience burst into applause as Vijay concluded his answer.

Social media users are eagerly anticipating the release of Vijay’s film Merry Christmas since its trailer release. The trailer starts with a montage of various clips. On Christmas Eve, the female lead (Katrina Kaif) encounters Vijay Sethupathi. She playfully questions whether he is single or if he discreetly removed his wedding ring upon seeing her. Soon, they head to her house and events take an unexpected turn. She requests him to stay, hinting that appearances can be deceiving. The narrative unfolds throughout one night in what looks like a gripping and compelling dark thriller.

Merry Christmas boasts of a stellar star cast starring Katrina, Tinnu Anand, Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, and others. Radhika Apte also performed a cameo in this film. Matchbox Pictures and Tips Films have produced Merry Christmas, and it will be released in Hindi and Tamil.
