Ranganayaka, directed by actor and filmmaker Guruprasad, and starring Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh, was announced a few years ago. Filmgoers in Kannada are anticipating a kind of resurgence of the duo’s popularity with films such as Mata and Edelu Manjunatha. The film is a political satire set several centuries ago. The movie’s subject, Ranganayaka, has been kept under wraps for a long time but not for long now.
Edelu Manjunatha, Guruprasad and Jaggesh will reunite with Ranganayaka, the team announced recently, fifteen years after their last joint venture. The film will be released on March 8.
Ranganayaka will mark the first historical piece by Jaggesh. Filming took place on specially constructed sets and the story takes place during the Vijayanagara dynasty. Would such a topic be appropriate in the present era, though? Due to Guruprasad’s decision to share his tale in a lighthearted manner, Jaggesh is certain that it will. According to reports, the director believes that Ranganayaka will enable him to show the public a side of Jaggesh that they haven’t seen before, even after more than three decades of work.
“It can be difficult to engage and amuse audiences, but comedy is one of the best tools for the job. And Rangayanaka accomplishes precisely that,” Jaggesh had previously stated during the filming process The actor went on to say that he was confident Ranganayaka would gain popularity in the same way as sequences from Mata and Edelu Manjunatha have gotten viral and served as inspiration for memes. According to Jaggesh, “There will be at least 100–150 hilarious clips in this film that people will share.”
Ranganayaka is set to be Jaggesh’s first release following the failure of his two-part film Thotapuri at the box office. Anoop Seelin composed the soundtrack for Ranganayaka and Samrat Ashok Gautam handled the photography. The leading lady, Rachita Mahalakshmi, who portrayed Meenatchi in the Tamil television series Saravanan Meenatchi, will make her debut in Kannada cinema.
