35. West Tuipui is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. West Tuipui falls in Lunglei district and South region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 14,783 voters in the seat, which includes 7,819 male voters, and 6,964 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, West Tuipui recorded a voter turnout of 86.98%. In 2013 the turnout was 86.62%, and in 2008 it was 85.4%.
In 2013, Nihar Kanti Chakma of INC won the seat by a margin of 3,334 votes (30.78%). Nihar Kanti Chakma secured 63.84% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,540 votes (17.29%), registering 56.73% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, INC led in the West Tuipui Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
