Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Thursday met with a 20-member Japanese delegation led by the Governor of Aichi Prefecture, to discuss trade options between the two sides.

The Chief Minister pointed out the first exclusive 'Japanese Investment Zone' at Neemrana in Alwar that has become an industrial hub with huge manufacturing plants, warehouses and other projects started by prestigious Japanese companies.

"Honda was the first car plant of Rajasthan which has acted as a trigger to development of auto-ancillary sector in the region. The Japanese Investment Zone has been promoted on 1,167 acre land, out of which around 585 acre is salable industrial land," an official release quoting Raje said in Jaipur.

Forty-five Japanese companies, majority of them dealing with auto manufacturing, have been allotted 473 acres of land and 38 units have started commercial operations in the zone.

The delegation led by Hideaki Omura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, comprised of delegates from Nagoya Chamber of Commerce, Chubu Economic Federation, lndian Commerce and lndustry Association Japan, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), lndian Government (Ministry of Commerce and lndustry) and Embassy of Japan in India.
