New Delhi: In what could be music to BSP chief Mayawati's ears, the BJP on Saturday accused the ruling UPA of "misusing" Central Bureau of Investigation for its political gains.
"This government is misusing CBI wherever it suits them. It uses it to bail out their supporters and to harm their opponents," senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu told reporters here on Saturday.
"The UPA regime is selectively using and misusing the premier investigation agency of the country for its political gains," Naidu said.
On Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's allegation that the Centre was using CBI against her, Naidu said, "these cases had been there for long. I wonder why they were silent for till now and have become violent suddenly."
The leader also made it clear that the party will not tie-up either with BSP or SP in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha polls.
"BJP will contest all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. We would have no alliance with either the Samajwadi or the Bahujan Samajwadi," Naidu said.
