In what clearly qualifies as Gandhigiri, a Samajwadi Party candidate in Varanasi is distributing red roses to the electorate during door-to-door campaigns in his constituency to boost his political fortunes.
Manoj Rai 'Pappu', contesting from the city (Cant) seat, says by distributing flowers, he wants to express his commitment for development. The fragrance of flowers will always remind me and the voters about our mutual commitment, he says.
