Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Police on Wednesday registered a case of harassment, assault and illegal confinement case against expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa.
The police swung into action on the basis of a complaint lodged with the Tuticorin Police demanding action against Sasikala and her family members for sexually harassing and threatening their maids. The complaint has been filed by a maid who claims she was working at MP’s residence in Tuticorin.
Sasikala was expelled from the party for allegedly slapping a fellow MP from DMK Tiruchi Shiva at Delhi airport about two weeks ago. She has accused her party leader of slapping her and forcing her to sign resignation letter.
The Delhi High court has ordered the police to give her security after she moved the court alleging that she is facing threat to life from AIADMK members.
On Monday, the Madras High Court closed the anticipatory bail petition filed by Sasikala Pushpa's husband and her son as the Chennai Police informed the court that that there are no cases pending against them in their jurisdiction.
