Shiv Sena sulks over BJP's big-brother attitude, demands NDA meet
The Shiv Sena has reiterated the demand for a meeting of NDA constituents ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The Shiv Sena has reiterated the demand for a meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituents ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Pointing that the constituents of the ruling alliance used to meet regularly during the tenure of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) questioned why the allies were not consulted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sulking over the big brother attitude of the BJP, Sena said, "We and Akalis stuck with BJP when it was out of power for 10 years."

This comes days after the Shiv Sena said that the BJP should take allies into confidence to chalk out a "strong strategy" to counter Congress-led opposition attack on a range of issues during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut had pointed that although there is an all-party meeting on July 20, no separate meeting of NDA allies have been called.

"Since it is going to be a stormy affair, the strategy should be strong to counter it," Raut told. Asked whether any meeting of the NDA been called, he replied in the negative.

"There has been no consultation with constituent parties. We are only aware of an all-party meeting convened on July 20 on the eve of the session. If the BJP takes allies into confidence we will give suggestions. This session is definitely going to be stormy," he said.
