The Election Commission may question Sasikala (Chinamma's) elevation as AIADMK general secretary, sources privy to the latest development told CNN-News18. Sources said that EC may cite the party constitution and say that there is no provision for a temporary Genereal secretary. The EC may even set aside Sasikala's elevation, the source added. Sasikala Pushpa had approached the EC and sough a clarification after which it was said that the explanation given by AIADMK is not satisfactory.
In an exclusive interview to Network 18, VK Sasikala said O Panneerselvam is a “traitor who betrayed the AIADMK”. She says Panneerselvam is being backed by the DMK, “which wants to destroy the AIADMK”. Later in the day Panneerselvam alleged that the party MLAs were under threat. “The Governor has to decide what he has to do,” he told Network 18.
Governor Vidyasagar Rao was expected to reach Chennai on Thursday and was likely to meet the rival camps.
