Kolkata: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has dismissed as "bunkum" reports that he had offered to resign following controversy over a note of his Ministry on the 2G issue.
He also declined to comment on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley's observation dubbing the "truce" between him and Home Minister P Chidambaram after the controversy as "uneasy".
"These are all bunkum. If you do not have any serious question, then I am sorry," he said on Saturday when asked whether he had offered to resign following the controversy over the note which suggested that Chidambaram could have prevented the 2G scam by insisting on auctioning of spectrum.
On Jaitley's remarks, Mukherjee, "I am not commenting on anybody, any individual. If you have a general issue then ask me."
Jaitley, the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, had said on Saturday that "it appeared to be an uneasy truce. Never before do we remember senior ministers presenting themselves before the media and the country and making it appear like a joint communique".
