Repoll in parts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh, single-phase voting was marred by large-scale Naxal violence.

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Thursday ordered re-poll in 146 voting stations in Bihar and 58 in Jharkhand where balloting was held in the first phase April 16.

The date for the re-polling in Bihar would be announced later, Deputy Election Commissioner R. Balakrishnan told reporters.

"Re-poll in 58 polling stations in Jharkhand would take place April 28," Balakrishnan said, IANS reports.

Repoll will be held in 25 polling stations on April 27 in Chhattisgarh which saw widespread Naxal violence during the Lok Sabha elections.

The repoll will be conducted in 20 polling stations in Bastar, four in Rajnandgaon and one in Korba, Deputy Election Commissioner J P Prakash told reporters.

The polling would be held from 7 am to 3 pm, he said.

Chhattisgarh had single phase polling on April 16 and the voting was marred by large-scale Naxal violence.

PTI reports that Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan told reporters that there were incidents of snatching and damaging of EVMs in Andhra Pradesh and a detailed inquiry would be conducted and on that basis repolling would be ordered.

Noting that over 24,000 polling stations in 27 parliamentary constituencies faced naxal threat, Balakrishnan said security personnel handled the situation effectively.
