Rahul likely to meet delegation from Bharatpur
The National Commission for Minorities has blamed the police of being partisan, saying it used excessive force.

New Delhi: AICC General Secretray Rahul Gandhi is likely to meet a delegation of Muslims from Bharatpur on Wednesday, sources said. Eight people were killed and 21 were injured after a clash between two communities took place on September 14 in the Gopalgarh area of the district.

The administration has maintained that the police resorted to firing to disperse the warring groups - but The National Commission for Minorities has blamed the police of being partisan, saying it used excessive force.

The Rajasthan government suspended Krishna Kunal and Hinglaj Dan, who were posted as District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Bharatpur when it witnessed the communal violence, officials said.

Kunal, Dan and then Additional SP of the district Om Prakash were suspended on September 28 night, officials said.

Kunal, Dan were removed from their positions on September 16 and were under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status.
