LAYOFFS IN RAJASTHAN’S BJP

In Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janta Party troubled by rebellion within its party ranks has expelled 17 members of the party including its MP from Bharatpur, Visvendra Singh and former minister in the Raje cabinet, Kirori Meena.

Singh a few days ago left the party and joined congress. While others were unhappy with being denied a party ticket to contest the assembly elections and had filed nominations as independent candidates.

VIOLENCE IN J&K

Electioneering for the second phase of assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir slated for November 23, ended on a violent note this evening with security forces opening fire on protesters in Ganderbal that left seven injured. Security forces used tear smoke shells and batons to chase away the protesters who also turned violent and resorted to stone pelting. They said Protests were held at several places in Ganderbal on the call of the separatist coordination committee against the election process.

MAGICIAN AIMS POLITICAL CAREER

An independent candidate, who regales voters with his magic tricks, is hoping to cast a spell and get elected. Magician Gopal, contesting for a seat in the Rajasthan legislative assembly caught everyone's attention when his supporters brought coins in decorated plates and presented it to the concerned officers to register his nomination. He says he has the answers to the Govenment's problems just with a little abra ca dabra.44v
