New Delhi: The all-party meeting called by Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Hamid Ansari to end the Parliament deadlock over the CAG report on coal block allocations was inconclusive on Thursday.
The BJP remained adamant on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation and the party is of the view that after the coal blocks report there is no question of letting Parliament function until its demands are met.
According to the BJP, the prolonged deadlock will only lead to a greater policy paralysis and force the government to go for an early election. The party is in power in Gujarat which will go for election later in the year. The party is also in power in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
The party believes that it can do better in some of the other states, propelling it to power is mid-term elections are held in early 2013.
BJP MPs shouted slogans minutes into the session forcing the Chairs to adjourn both Houses for an hour on Thursday. Constant disruptions have led to losses of more than Rs 3 crore so far.
