'Let DK Shivakumar Take Over As Chief Minister': Vokkaliga Seer To Siddaramaiah
However, responding to questions about the rumours, DK Shivakumar said the final call would be that of the party's high command

The power tussle in Karnataka has taken a fresh turn with a Vokkaliga seer asking Siddaramaiah to step aside and let his deputy, DK Shivakumar, be the chief minister of the southern state.

Just a few weeks after the Lok Sabha election, top Vokkaliga seer Chandrashekar Swamiji, while sharing a stage with Siddaramaiah, said, “Everyone has become chief minister and enjoyed power. But our DK Shivakumar has not become chief minister yet,” he said, adding that Siddaramaiah has already been in power and he should make way for Shivakumar.

This has fanned rumours of a power-sharing pact between the Congress leaders in 2.5 years. However, responding to questions about the rumours, DK Shivakumar said the final call would be that of the party’s high command.

When Congress made a power-packed comeback in Karnataka in May 2023, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were in fray for the CM’s post. Though the Congress high command chose Siddaramaiah for the top post, Shivakumar, the party’s troubleshooter, awaits his due recognition.
