New Delhi: A parliamentary delegation from Bhutan on Monday met Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.
Interacting with the visiting delegation, Naidu said that the previous budget session of parliament was one of the "best budget sessions in the last six years as both the Houses passed 24 bills."
A statement quoting him said Lok Sabha worked for 117 per cent of the scheduled time while the productivity of Rajya Sabha was 101 per cent in the budget session.
The Bhutanese delegation, led by Speaker of the National Assembly Jigme Zangpo and the Chairperson of the National Council of the Bhutanese Parliament Sonam Kinga, met Naidu.
Lauding Bhutan's smooth transition from monarchy to democracy, Naidu said such visits can help parliamentarians learn the best practices in use in different systems.
During their visit, the Bhutanese parliamentarians will be acquainted with committee system, budgetary process and the legislative process of Indian Parliament.
