New Delhi: After its spectacular debut in the Delhi assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is now eyeing the Lok Sabha elections amidst strong indications that it'll field its leader Kumar Vishwas against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

Kejriwal may have created history after defeating the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit from her own constituency New Delhi, but it won't be a cake-walk for Vishwas, if he gets the ticket from Amethi. For one, Amethi has been the bastion of the Gandhi family for many years. Being a VIP constituency various projects have been sanctioned in the area, this November itself Rahul announced two new rails for the area. Besides reports suggest that the BJP is trying to field the controversial Sanjay Singh, who is popularly known as the Raja of Amethi against Rahul Gandhi. Though Singh, still a Congress MP has denied this. But with such strong contenders it won't be easy for the poet turned politician to win the elections. But buoyed by the performance of the AAP at the state level Vishwas believes that if he gets a ticket from Amethi he'll be able to rout the Gandhi scion. "They haven't done any work in Amethi, they are saying all this to fool the people. People of this country are fed up of this dynasty politics", says Kumar Vishwas .

Kumar Vishwas a poet and a teacher of Hindi literature is one of the core members of the national executive of the AAP. He is from Uttar Pradesh. He claims the he has done MA and PHD. He's not only emerged as a key strategist, but also Arvind Kejriwal's right hand man. Kumar Vishwas was instrumental in galvanizing the youth which formed the core supporters of the AAP in Delhi. Vishwas handled the cyber wing of the party and held over 120 yatras to mobilise the youth. Vishwas has also penned various slogans and his poems have been used in campaigns by the party.

Vishwas first met Arvind Kejriwal in 2006, through Manish Sisodia, who is Vishwas' childhood friend. Vishwas used to write articles for Sisodia's magazine Apna-Panna and Kejriwal was associated with Sisodia then. Their friendship grew during Indiaagainst corruption (IAC) movement and Vishwas followed Kejriwal in the political arena. Though, till date Vishwas refuses to call himself a politician, "I am still a revolutionary. The AAP is not a party, it's a revolution." Today Vishwas has emerged as Kejriwal's man friday, he was the first person to be seen with Kejriwal after the results for the Delhi elections were out. Though Kumar Vishwas's image suffered a slight setback after a sting operation showed that he was willing to accept funds without proper verification. But the party supported him doggedly, even conducting their own inquiry to find the footage concocted.

Kumar Vishwas' website (http://www.kumarvishwas.com/bio.html) introduces him as a new age poet and Indian youth icon. It also claims that he has revived Hindi poetry. The website proudly declares "as a celebrated Hindi poet, he is well known across the world. He is credited with reviving Hindi poetry among young generation. A professor by profession, Dr Vishwas is also involved in writing Scripts, Lyrics and Stories for Indian Film Industry. He is the first performing poet of any language across the world, whose poems in his own voice, have been hosted as Caller-back tunes on all major telecom operators ofindia. Overall, Dr Kumar Vishwas is an iconic blend of a Performing Poet, an Author, a Social Communicator and a Motivator

As a performer, Dr Kumar Vishvas has travelled across the globe. His 'Koi Deewana Kehta Hai' and 'Hotho Par Ganga Ho, Hatho me Tiranga Ho' Solo concerts have practically changed the definition of Poetic performance. The time has seen the Kavi-Sammelan format changing from traditional set-up to a stylish state-of-the-art set-up, with accessories like Fancy Lightings, Spot-light, Music-support, Collar-mics and Projector-Screen displays"

Kumar Vishwas may be a known face now and the AAP's extraordinary performance and growing popularity may give him an extra edge but the challenges for it won't be easy for the party to repeat it s successful Delhi story in other states, especially a place like Amethi. But the Aam Aadmi party has showed everyone by it's debut performance that one shouldn't underestimate a new-comer and in politics - never say never.
