173. Khategaon is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Vidisha Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Khategaon falls in Dewas district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,07,365 voters in the seat, which includes 1,08,388 male voters, and 98,973 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Khategaon recorded a voter turnout of 82.4%. In 2013 the turnout was 79.72%, and in 2008 it was 74.1%.
In 2013, Aashish Govind Sharma of BJP won the seat by a margin of 21,717 votes (14.68%). Aashish Govind Sharma secured 54.06% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 3,657 votes (3.5%), registering 46.41% of the total votes polled.
