Jagan arrest: YSR Cong alleges conspiracy
The party has called for a 24-hour bandh in the state on Monday in protest against the arrest.

Hyderabad: YSR Congress spokesperson Ambati Rambaju said on Sunday that party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was being targeted by the Andhra Pradesh Congress, the Opposition parties and the CBI and that the leader had announced his arrest four days back.

Rambaju said, "The arrest was anticipated. This is a conspiracy by Andhra Pradesh Congress, the Opposition and the CBI. Jagan had announced his arrest four days back."

"Why did they select this time to arrest him... in the middle of the by-elections...?" he asked.

"Everyone in the state is supporting Jagan Mohan Reddy," he added.

The party has called for a 24-hour bandh in the state on Monday in protest against the arrest.

Rambaju said Jagan's mother YS Vijayamma will lead the party.

"Jagan Mohan Reddy's mother YS Vijayamma will lead the party. We will carry out a peaceful dharna and protest. We request our supporters to protest peacefully."

Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested by the CBI on Sunday at 7.15 pm in connection with the disproportionate assets case, after three days of intense questioning.

He will be produced before a CBI court next, where the investigative body will seek police custody for the leader for further interrogations.
