Gwalior: Madhya Pradesh minister for sports and youth welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia has gone public in expressing her displeasure following Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accusing the earstwhile Gwalior royal family of tormenting public in connivance with the British.
Chouhan had made the comments about the Scindias during an election rally in poll-bound Bhind district’s Ater tehsil recently.
The move also has created flutter in the political circles in Madhya Pradesh.
Yashodhara’s sister and Rajasthan chief minister, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, too was in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday to pay obeisance to a holy shrine in Datia district.
Yashodhara has denied claims that she and her sister Vasundhara were trying to seek an audience with the party chief Amit Shah in order to complain against Chouhan for his remarks.
Political analysts suggest that Yashodhara is feeling sidelined in Madhya Pradesh because she got a ‘relatively light’ ministry and is leaving no stone unturned to corner CM Shivraj over his remarks.
Recently, Yashodhara has caused a controversy in the state, saying she felt that she could not do much for industries. Later, she backtracked, saying she was referring to industrial development in Shivpuri only and not for the entire state.
