Singer Kenishaa Francis has been in the news ever since rumours about her relationship with actor Jayam Ravi surfaced. While the actor has come out to clarify that these speculations were baseless, in the latest, the singer has shared her opinion on the ongoing issue. She described how Jayam sought her help through therapy after experiencing major difficulties in his marriage with Aarti.
In an interview with DT Next, Kenishaa Francis revealed that Jayam Ravi approached her for help through therapy as the singer also practices as a therapist. Kenishaa shared her first meeting with Jayam Ravi at the launch of her song Idhai Yaar Solvaaro, which was organised by actor Jiiva. They had a brief interaction at the event and had little contact after that. She revealed that since Jayam was aware of her credentials as therapist, “He got in touch with me again around June, when he was mentally and emotionally bruised and battered from his marriage to Aarti.”
Furthermore, Kenishaa stated that Jayam Ravi’s troubles were more painful than losing one’s parents. She noted, “As a therapist, it was beyond painful for me to hear about his struggles with Aarti and her parents. No one deserves so much abuse irrespective of gender and I can release all the evidence with or without Ravi’s permission in the court of law, from my notes of our therapy sessions.”
Kenishaa also addressed the rumours of her link-up with Jayam Ravi in the same interview. Denying all such speculation, she stated, “There are certain articles that say that I am the reason behind his separation with his ex-wife. Those are false claims. He came to me only after he had sent a notice for divorce by mutual consent through his lawyer. He approached me because he didn’t want anyone in Chennai to know about this.”
Kenishaa also posted a snippet of her interview on social media and urged people to not interfere in the matter. She wrote, “Firstly, and humbly I say this to you – stay out of it, coz it’s not your home’s issue but someone else’s home, and you’re not allowed an opinion in this matter. Secondly, leave me out of it, I have work to do and I don’t advocate for uncanny banter. Lastly, be kind to everyone. It’s the only necessity in the world right now.”
Kenishaa Francis is a Bengaluru-based Goan singer noted for her solo vocalist work. In addition to live music performances, Kenishaa has participated in a few acting ventures.
