Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani 'Foresees' BJP Winning all Rajya Sabha Seats
Rupani took potshots at Congress President Sonia Gandhi, predicting an end of Congress party in the country, owing to "Sonia Gandhi's love for her son and Ahmed Patel's love for the Rajya Sabha."

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday "foresaw" BJP winning all three Rajya Sabha seats in the election scheduled for August 8.

Rupani took potshots at Congress President Sonia Gandhi, predicting an end of Congress party in the country, owing to "Sonia Gandhi's love for her son and Ahmed Patel's love for the Rajya Sabha."

Ramping up criticism against Gujarat Congress MLAs, who are currently lodged in a Bengaluru resort, Rupani asserted that "they will be taught a lesson, all of them."

"Congress MLAs should be here. They ought to be with the people." Gujarat is one of the several states battered by heavy rainfall this season.

Rupani said that his government is doling out cash, compensation and household items to people in flood-hit areas. "I am here since yesterday and will be here for the next five days to supervise rehabilitation work," he said, adding, "we haven't received any rescue calls since yesterday, meaning nobody is stranded anywhere."

The Congress has been in the eye of the storm ever since it moved 44 of its MLAs from the state to a Bengaluru resort, alleging they were being "threatened and bribed" by the ruling BJP in Gujarat to join its ranks.
