Jammu: Seeking a mandate in favour of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said that conventional poll arithmetic in the state would not work in this election, maintaining the ground chemistry has changed.
"When there is a change in the ground chemistry, the conventional arithmetic does not work. I have said this in Lok Sabha election and say the same for this Jammu and Kashmir election also," he said addressing a 'Vision Seminar'.
Jaitley said he has been holding that "some isolations are majestic" when people come out in support of a political party (BJP) than other parties.
Citing the example of various parties which earlier contested polls on caste lines, he said all such parties faced a drubbing in Lok Sabha election.
Jaitley, who earlier addressed a public meeting as part of BJP's campaign for the last phase of J&K election on December 20, said various poll predictions made in connection with these polls would "fall into error" as people favoured BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
