Former Ministers Kapil Sibal and Kamal were also not present at the two-day meet which began on Monday.
New Delhi: Several senior Congress leaders including AK Antony, P Chidambaram, Sushilkumar Shinde and Kamal Nath were conspicuous by their absence at the International Conference on Jawaharlal Nehru organised on Monday.
A number of party Chief Ministers including from Karnataka and Kerala were also not present at the two-day meet which began on Monday.
Party leaders said that Antony could not come as he is unwell while another former Minister Jairam Ramesh is stated to be abroad. Former Minister Kapil Sibal was also not present. Former Commerce Minister Anand Sharma was actively associated in organizing the conference.
