BJP's Sadhvi Prachi stirs a new controversy, says asked Hindus to have 4 children, not 40 puppies
Despite Modi asking party members to desist from making controversial statements, she had claimed that Hindu women should give birth to four children.

New Delhi: Landing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in yet another controversy, party leader Sadhvi Prachi backed her earlier comment that Hindu women should have four children.

In a rather bizarre defence, she asserted that she only asked Hindu women to produce four children and not 40 puppies. "I asked people to have 4 kids, not 40 puppies," she said.

Time and again, the BJP leader has courted a controversy by her remarks. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking party members to desist from making controversial statements, she had claimed that Hindu women should give birth to four children.

"A lion doesn't have just one child. We also need four children in each family. One will fight the enemies on the border, give one to saints, give another to VHP for social work," she said.

She had also lashed out at All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi and said that all Indians are Hindus and if he cannot accept it, he must move to Pakistan. "Every child born in India is a Hindu. Owaisi's father was born in India, and is also a Hindu. If Owaisi cannot accept Hindu identity, he must move to Pakistan."
