New Delhi:The BJP has put in place an elaborate mechanism to monitor the election process and its preparations for the battle and set up six panels for the same.
"The co-ordination and implementation of the election process would be closely watched from the national headquarters and we have set up some committees for the same," party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Wednesday.
The committees established would be reporting to former party chief M Venkiah Naidu of daily developments. Naqvi would be responsible for co-ordination among the committees. One panel set up under Rama Krishnan, a former IAS and a member of the "election war room" would be monitoring the Election Commission-related complaints from across the country and would arrange for registering it with the EC.
A media campaign committee would be closely watching the party-related poll propaganda in the media and also monitor public broadcaster Doordarshan and Akashvani to check misuse, if any, by ruling UPA to its advantage. The panel would be headed by Nalini Kohli, the media convener of the party.
There would be separate committees also to look into the campaign schedule and time-table of senior party leaders, one to compile and suggest feedback on issues, another to monitor the party's cyber campaign.
A joint meeting of all the six committees was convened at the party headquarters on Wednesday by Venkiah Naidu. Naqvi was also present in the meeting.
