Patna: Celebrations broke out at the BJP office here as initial vote count trends on Sunday showed BJP-led NDA was leading. The JD-U and RJD offices wore a deserted look.
A group of BJP workers distributed sweets and burst firecrackers over the early trends.
"We have begun celebrations," BJP leader Nawal Kumar said.
BJP worker Monu Sharma said BJP will win the polls. "The early trend is with us. We will form the next government," he said.
In sharp contrast, Lalu Prasad's RJD office and Nitish Kumar's JDU offices, not far from BJP office on busy Birchand Patel Marg here, wore a deserted look.
"There is no activity in and outside their party offices," said Bhola Prasad, an owner of a road side eatery.
BJP-led NDA was leading as millions of votes were counted in 39 centres in the state on Sunday.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for counting of votes polled in the five-phased assembly elections, officials said.
Counting of votes polled for 243 assembly seats began at 8 AM.
