Bhujbal, Ajit Pawar to be deputy CM on rotation
NCP frames plan to keep peace among senior party leaders.

Mumbai: Two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders will be Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister in rotation, sources have told CNN-IBN. Chagan Bhujbal will be on the post for 18 months and he will then be replaced by Ajit Pawar, sources say.

Pawar, nephew of NCP chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, was miffed after he was passed over the job and didn’t get support from his uncle.

Sources tell CNN-IBN that Pawar, a five-time MLA, threatened not to join the state Congress-NCP alliance government after it was announced that Bhujbal would get the Deputy Chief Minister’s post.

Sources say Bhujbal would move to the Centre as a Union Minister after 18 months and will be then replaced by Pawar.

Pawar on Tuesday denied that he was upset with his party for appointing Bhujbal as the Deputy Chief Minister. "The decision (to name Chagan Bhujbal as leader) was a collective one and there are no differences. Nothing wrong has happened. No decision has been imposed," said Pawar in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The NCP is one family and there are no differences," he said,.

"The Congress-NCP ruling combine will work as a team and give results," he said.
