Bhatgaon is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Surguja (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Bhatgaon falls in Surajpur district and North region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,19,508 voters in the seat, which includes 1,10,783 male voters, and 1,08,711 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Bhatgaon recorded a voter turnout of 78.21%. In 2013 the turnout was 80.6%, and in 2008 it was 72.95%.
In 2013, Paras Nath Rajwade of INC won the seat by a margin of 7,368 votes (4.55%). Paras Nath Rajwade secured 41.54% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 17,498 votes (13.52%), registering 27.86% of the total votes polled.
