145. Basoda is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Vidisha Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Basoda falls in Vidisha district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,89,766 voters in the seat, which includes 1,00,528 male voters, and 89,234 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Basoda recorded a voter turnout of 76.39%. In 2013 the turnout was 74.5%, and in 2008 it was 73.64%.
In 2013, Nishank of INC won the seat by a margin of 16,159 votes (12.29%). Nishank secured 51.72% of the total votes polled.
