166. Agar is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Dewas (SC) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Agar falls in Shajapur district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.

There are a total of 2,07,600 voters in the seat, which includes 1,07,142 male voters, and 1,00,453 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Agar recorded a voter turnout of 82.6%. In 2013 the turnout was 74.71%, and in 2008 it was 75.3%.

In 2013, Manohar Oontwal of BJP won the seat by a margin of 28,859 votes (19.07%). Manohar Oontwal secured 55.34% of the total votes polled.

BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 16,734 votes (14.45%), registering 51.88% of the total votes polled.
