Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party ally Shiv Sena hit out at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi over his bitter war of words with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "A hundred Rahuls cannot match one Modi."
In a scathing article in Sena's mouthpiece Saamna, the party has lauded Modi for calling previous Congress-led UPA government a 'suitcase government'. The article said the Congress only uses suitcases to carry money, referring to the 2G and coal block allocation scams. It went on to say that suitcases were sold in black at that time.
The article added that a 'suit-boot government' is anyday a better choice than a 'suitcase government'.
The Congress hit back saying crores of young people are standing with Rahul. "PM Modi has lost a lot of ground in the last one year. In the next 4 years, Modi will face a lot more anger. Rahul has the support of crores of young people," said Congress leader Pramod Tiwari.
Modi hit back at Rahul for calling his government a 'suit-boot ki sarkar' and said, "Suit boot is definitely more acceptable than suitcase."
Rahul, who is spearheading Congress's fight against the Narendra Modi government's Land Acquisition Bill, has been accusing it of being anti-poor, anti-farmer and called it 'suit-boot ki sarkar'.
