Carlos Alcaraz found himself in a pickle 35 minutes into his battle against Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of the US Open. But, the fiery Spainiard has never been one to fold, and the whole world witnessed Alcaraz yet again prove to all why he is the top-seeded men’s player in the world right now.
Alcaraz fought back from a 3-3 first set to clinch them all straight to a hard-fought and well-deserved 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory against the 26-year-old German Zverev, in an encounter that lasted more than 4 hours.
And the biggest of stages will always attract the biggest of names, as former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also one amongst the crowd to witness the war that had ensued in the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday.

Dhoni has always been a big fan of the game of tennis as made evident with his constant training. Retirement seems to had no effect on Captain Cool, who has persistently been active throughout, indulging in the likes of tennis to keep himself at his best. And Indian tennis fans will be thrilled to know that when it comes to Alcaraz, even the biggest of names such as Dhoni cannot help but be enticed by the magic the Spaniard produces on the court.

The top-seeded Alcaraz pushed aside Zverev 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and moved a step closer to becoming the first man to win consecutive titles at Flushing Meadows since Roger Federer collected five in a row from 2004-08.
Following his hard-fought win, Carlos Alcaraz will now face off against third seed Daniil Medvedev on Friday for a place in the final and a chance to defend his title.
