UGC NET December 2023: Applicants interested in taking the exam can submit their applications on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The deadline for paying the exam fee is also October 31

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline to register for the University Grants Commission (UGC) – National Eligibility Test (NET) for the December 2023 session. The last date to apply is October 31. Earlier, it was scheduled to conclude today, October 28. The NTA extended the application deadline after receiving “various representations” from candidates. Applicants interested in taking the exam can submit their applications on the official website — ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The deadline for paying the exam fee is also October 31.

Following the closure of UGC NET December 2023 registration, candidates will have the opportunity to make edits to their applications from November 1 to 3. During this period, those who applied for the exam can correct personal information and address any issues with images and scanned signatures in their registration forms.

The UGC NET 2023 is scheduled to take place from December 6 to December 22.  Candidates can download the hall ticket from the official website, in the first week of December. To access the hall ticket, candidates will need their application number and password to log in.

General, unreserved, general-EWS candidates should have attained a minimum of 55 per cent (without rounding off) in a master’s degree or an equivalent examination from universities or institutions accredited by UGC to be eligible for the UGC NET.

UGC NET December 2023: How to Apply

Step 1: Navigate to the official website of the National Testing Agency at ugcnet.nta.nic.in

Step 2: Tap on the UGG NET registration option, on the homepage.

Step 3: Key in your phone number, email address, and other necessary information. You must also submit the necessary files.

Step 4: After completing the registration form, make the payment.

Step 5: Lastly, download the form and take a printout of the confirmation page.

UGC NET December 2023: Application Fees

The application fee for the UGC NET includes Rs 600 for OBC and EWS applicants, Rs 1,150 for general category candidates, and Rs 325 for SC, and ST applicants.

For general category candidates, a minimum score of 40 per cent is required to qualify for the UGC NET, while reserved categories need to score 35 per cent. The cut-off for the exam will depend on various factors, including the number of candidates, available positions, and the difficulty of the exam.
