This year more than 4.5 lakh students have got their TS Inter second-year results. In the absence of any written exam, students have been assessed differently this year. All the students have been promoted meaning that the board has declared a 100 per cent pass percentage. Out of the total number of candidates registered for the TS Inter exams, a total of 1,76,719 candidates secured grade A, 1,04,886 students got grade B, 61,887 students in grade C, and 1,08,088 students secured grade D. As many as 2,28,754 girls and 2,22,831 boys passed the exam this year.

The Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy had earlier informed that the students have been given marks on the basis of their class 11 performance for the theory section. Apart from that, the students have been given full marks in practical exams as not every student had equal access to the internet and online classes amid the pandemic. Initially, the class 12 exams were scheduled to be held between May 1 and 19.

If any student is not satisfied with the final marks, s/he can appear a written exam. This will provide the students with a chance to improve their marks. However, it will be held after the pandemic situation normalises. Students wanting to appear for the written exam will have to wait till then.

Schools and colleges in Telangana are scheduled to reopen from July 1. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as Covid-19 cases have dipped in the state. The Cabinet has further instructed the Education Department to prepare guidelines to maintain compulsory attendance of the students as well as regarding online classes. A detailed guideline will be issued by the state government soon.

Meanwhile, the SSC class 10 exam results were declared on May 22. More than 5.21 lakh students had registered for the exam. Like the TS Inter, all the SSC students have been promoted. Nearly half of the students have got full marks or a 10/10 GPA. Usually every year, 20 per cent of the marks are based on formative assessment (FA), however, this year, the marks have been finalised fully on the basis of FA as the final exams were not conducted due to the pandemic.
