'Outstanding Administrator': PM Modi's Birthday Wish for Amit Shah; Nadda, CM Yogi Extend Greetings
Other senior BJP leaders, including union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, also extended their wishes to union home minister Amit Shah on his 59th birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted union home minister Amit Shah on his 59th birthday and said he has made a mark as in “outstanding administrator” while lauding his role in “strengthening the BJP”. Other senior BJP leaders, including national president JP Nadda and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, also extended their wishes to Shah.

Prime Minister Modi wished “may he be blessed with a long life and wonderful health”. In a post on X, he said, “He (Shah) is passionate about India’s progress and ensuring a better quality of life for the poor. He has made a mark as an outstanding administrator, making notable contributions to enhancing India’s security apparatus and further developing the cooperatives sector.”

Nadda praised Shah’s exceptional dedication to the nation, sincerity and organisational skill, and said it was an inspiration for party workers.

A close confidant of the PM, Shah, who is also the minister of cooperation, has played a crucial role in the rise of the BJP under Modi’s leadership. He was made the BJP national president in 2014 and spearheaded the national growth of the party as its political strength grew remarkably in several states, paving the way for its return to power at the Centre in 2019 with a bigger majority.

Adityanath said the home minister is a “popular public leader” who is an ideal example of discipline, hard work and organisational skills.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh also wished Shah on his birthday, saying he is playing a “very effective role in maintaining India’s internal security” on the strength of his “hard work, determination and willpower”.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari, too, wished his cabinet colleague and prayed for his long and healthy life.

Shah joined the second Modi-led government as a cabinet minister and was instrumental in the ruling party fulfilling its foundational pledge of nullifying Article 370, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special rights. He continues to play a key role in the party’s political and electoral strategy.
