The JEE Advanced exam attracts hundreds of thousands of candidates every year, but only a privileged few manage to secure a spot on the list. This entrance test serves as the gateway for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). Those who qualify in the top 2.5 lakh in the JEE Main are eligible to register for the JEE Advanced entrance test. IIT Guwahati has shared the names of the students who did well in the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. Individuals can check the full list of toppers on the official JEE Advanced website at jeeadv.ac.in.
Over the past 10 years ranging from 2014 to 2023, the male JEE Advanced toppers have consistently demonstrated exceptional academic achievements. In 2023, Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy secured the top position with an impressive score of 341 out of 360. The previous year, R K Shishir excelled with a score of 314 out of 360, while in 2021, Mridul Agarwal topped the charts with a remarkable score of 348 out of 360. Chirag Falor led the rankings in 2020, scoring an outstanding 352 out of 360. The trend of high achievers continued in 2019, with Gupta Kartikey Chandresh securing the top spot with a score of 346 out of 372. Other notable toppers in preceding years include Pranav Goyal in 2018, Sarvesh Mehtani in 2017, Aman Bansal in 2016, Satvat Jagwani in 2015, and Chitrang Murdia in 2014. These individuals not only embody academic excellence but also serve as inspiring figures for aspiring students in the competitive landscape of JEE Advanced.
On the other hand, the female JEE Advanced topper in 2023 is Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree scored 298 out of 360, and in 2022, Tanishka Kabra secured the top position with a score of 277 out of 360. The 2021 topper was Kavya Chopra with a score of 286 out of 360 while in 2020, Kanishka Mittal topped the exam with a score of 315 out of 360. In 2019, Kanishka Mittal secured the first position with a score of 308 out of 372. The 2018 topper was Meenal Parakh with a score of 318 out of 360. The names of the 2017 to 2015 toppers are Ramya Narayansamy, Riya Singh, and Krati Tiwari. Aditi was the 2014 topper.
For the past few years, IIT Bombay has been the most popular choice for JEE aspirants. About 90 per cent of the top 50 JEE Advanced rankers preferred IIT Bombay. In 2018, 47 out of the top 50 chose IIT Bombay, and the numbers were 42 in 2019 and 2021 and 46 in 2022 and 2023.
The JEE Advanced is administered by the IITs, while the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) handles the counselling process. Following the announcement of JEE Advanced results, JoSAA conducts up to six rounds of counselling each year for admission to the IITs.
