Former Pakistan cricketers continued to spark controversies with their bizarre conspiracy theories regarding the Indian team and their performance in the ongoing ODI World Cup. The Men in Blue reached the final of the World Cup with a clinical 70-run win over New Zealand in the semi-final clash on Wednesday at Wankhede Stadium. It was another comprehensive performance from India as star batters Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer hit centuries while Mohammed Shami produced another magical performance with the ball by claiming a seven-wicket haul.
However, after India’s triumph, former Pakistan cricketer Sikander
Bakht insinuated that India perhaps may be exploiting the toss due to how Rohit Sharma tosses the coin far away from the other captains on the pitch, to deceive and perhaps gain sway over the decision being taken.

“If you see closely enough, whenever Rohit Sharma gets to flip the coin for the toss, he also tosses it far away from the other captain. It is almost far enough that the other captain never really gets to see what the actual outcome of the toss was,” stated Bakht.
Very strange the way Rohit Sharma throw the coin at toss, far away, don’t let other Captains to see, compare to other Captains in the WC , any reason?? @BCCI @TheRealPCB @CricketAus @CricketSouthAfrica #sikanderbakht #WorldCup23 #IndiaVsNewZealand @ImRo45 @ICC pic.twitter.com/KxhR2QyUZm— Sikander Bakht (@Sikanderbakhts) November 15, 2023
The core idea of Bakht’s post and comments are that India are exploiting the advantages of playing at home in order to gain the upper hand and have their path for success paved for them in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Bakht was bashed by the former Pakistan cricketers for his bizarre conspiracy theory as Wasim Akram, Moin Khan and Shoaib Malik were not impressed by his comments.
“Who decides where the coin should land? It is just for sponsorship! I feel embarrassed,” Akram reacted as a fan asked the question about the same on The Pavilion on A Sports.
“I can’t even… I don’t even want to comment on it,” Akram further said.
Former Pakistan captain Moin said that Bakht is just trying to create a fuss with his comments.
“He is mistaken, just creating a fuss. Every captain has a different way of tossing the coin,” said the former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter.
Shoaib Malik said, “This shouldn’t even be discussed.”
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli scored a record-breaking 50th one-day international hundred before Mohammed Shami took a sensational seven wicket-haul as India sealed a place in the World Cup final with a 70-run win over New Zealand in Mumbai on Wednesday.
