Sreesanth’s Instagram live on Wednesday night took social media by storm as he claimed that he was mocked by Gautam Gambhir during the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 Eliminator in Surat. The former said his ex-India teammate told him such things which the latter shouldn’t have, promising that he would reveal what exactly he was told by Gambhir. Keeping his word, Sreesanth posted another video on Instagram on Thursday afternoon, stating that Gambhir called him a ‘fixer’ repeatedly during the game.
In the video posted on Thursday morning, the former Indian speedster said he was approached by several media houses to know what exactly happened between him and Gambhir. But instead of speaking with different people and answering the same questions multiple times, he decided to post a video and ‘clear the air’.
“Fixer, fixer, you’re a fixer… you f**k off, fixer. He kept saying that,” revealed Sreesanth in an Instagram video on his handle on Thursday.
“He kept on calling me that, on live television on the centre of the wicket. This is the language he used on live TV. He also told the same thing in front of umpires as they tried to control him. I did not say a single bad word or an abusive word at him. I only kept saying ‘what are you saying?’ Then I laughed in a sarcastic way,” he added.

Gambhir vs Sreesanth in the game
The matter seemingly flared up during the second over of India Capitals’ innings when Gambhir hit the right-arm quick for a boundary followed by a maximum. Sreesanth then managed to deliver a dot ball which was followed by an exchange of words between the two former India cricketers.

After the match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants on Wednesday night, Sreesanth uploaded a video on Instagram where he ranted against Gambhir.
“Just wanted to clear the air with what happened with Mr fighter. One who always fights with all his colleagues. For no reason whatsoever. He does not even respect his own senior players, including Viru Bhai. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me something which was very rude which shouldn’t have been said by Mr Gautam Gambhir,” Sreesanth said on the live.
“I am not at all at fault here. I just wanted to clear the air straight away. What Mr Gauti has done, sooner or later all of you will get to know. The words which he used and the things he said on a cricket field, live, is not acceptable. My family, my state, everybody has gone through so much. I fought that battle with all your support. Now people want to down me for no reason. He said things he shouldn’t have said. I will surely let you know what he said,” he added.

Gambhir’s reaction
Gambhir took to social media to seemingly respond to the controversial statements made by Sreesanth after the pair were involved in an on-field spat.
“Smile when the world is all about attention!”: the caption of the post read.

Sreesanth’s connection with fixing
Back in 2013, Sreesanth was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly being involved in IPL spot-fixing. He even served a ban but the charges were later dropped by a Delhi court which allowed him to make a comeback in domestic cricket in 2021.
