CUET For UG Admissions to Top Colleges From July 15, Applications to Reopen Thursday
CUET UG 2022 to begin from July 15. One Candidate has applied in more than 5 Universities, on an average, and there are more than 54,000 unique combinations of subjects chosen by various Candidates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) as an entry gateway for admission to top colleges across the country on July 15, 16, 19, 20, and August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. The exam will be held in a computer-based test mode. This is the first-time that a centalized entrance exam will be held for admision to all central universities and colleges across India. “Since, it is the only exam for entry into Central University System (UG Courses), the registration is once again being opened for one last time on the demand of the Candidates,” the NTA said in an official notice. The application process closed on May 31 earlier and now will be reopened.

As of now, 9,50,804 Candidates have registered for admission into 86 Universities out of which there are 43 Central Universities, 13 State Universities, 12 Deemed Universities and 18 Private Universities. The Candidates can take the test in any of the 13 mediums being offered, select any combination out of 33 languages and 27 unique subjects. The application process will reopen from June 23 onwards and will conclude on June 24. Further, those who have already applied can make corrections to their application process till July 24 up to 11:50 OM. The application and correction process links can be found at ntaa.ac.in, cuet.smarth.ac.in, nta.ac.in.

While correcting the application form, candidates will not be allowed to change their mobile numbers, email ids, or address, however, they can change class 10 and class 12 details, exam center selection, medium of language, gender, category etc.

Based on early trends, Delhi University received the highest number of applications with over 6 lakh applications followed by BHU with over 3.94 lakh applications followed by Allahabad University with 2.31 lakh applications.

The  CUET 2022 score will be used for admission to all central universities including Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, Aligarh Muslim University, among others. It can also be used for admission to private and deemed to be universities. Many top colleges including Jamia Hamdard, TISS have shown interest in enrolling students through CUET.

This is the first time that CUET will be conducted and it will be held for over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The CUCET-UG exam will comprise two parts -Part A will have 25 multiple choice questions from English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, and General Awareness, while Part B will have 75 questions from subject-specific topics. The medium of question papers for all the examinations shall be English other than the language course and the duration of the exam will be 2 hours. Each question would carry four marks for the correct answers while there will be a deduction of one mark for every wrong answer.

“The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities,” states CUET’s official website.
