Vikram Gokhale's Posthumous Film Sur Lagoo De Gets A Release Date
Vikram Gokhale passed away in November 2022 after suffering from multiple organ failure.

Renowned actor Vikram Gokhale, a luminary in the Marathi film industry, sadly passed away on November 26, 2022. However, he’s set to grace the big screen for one last time as his final film, titled Sur Lagoo De. The first poster of the movie was unveiled recently, and it is scheduled for release on January 12, 2024. This posthumous release offers fans a precious opportunity to once again witness Vikram Gokhale’s remarkable talent and bid a fitting farewell to the late actor on the silver screen.

Actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar and Manoj Joshi unveiled the latest poster of Sur Lagoo De at the MIG Club in Bandra, in the presence of Vikram Gokhale’s wife, Vrushali Vikram Gokhale.

Director Pravin Eknath Birje conveyed, “The entire team is deeply saddened to release the film in the absence of Vikram Gokhale. His departure has left an irreplaceable void in the entertainment industry. However, in this movie, just before bidding adieu, he imparts a valuable message to his fans. As a tribute to the legendary actor, we dedicate the film to him.”

Vikram Gokhale, whose artistic journey began on the Marathi stage, carved a distinguished career in both Marathi and Hindi cinema. Notable among his Hindi film roles was in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, where he portrayed Aishwarya Rai’s father. His repertoire includes acclaimed Hindi movies such as Agneepath (1990), Khuda Gawah, Insaaf, Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Mission Mangal, and Aiyaary, among others. In the Marathi film domain, his contributions encompass iconic works like Natsamrat, Lapandav, Kalat Nakalat, Vazir, Bala Gau Kashi Angar, Anumati, Mukta, Me Shivaji Park, and AB Aani CD.

Gokhale marked his directorial debut in Marathi cinema with the film Aaghaat. Notably, he won the National Award for Best Actor at the 60th National Film Awards in 2013 for his performance in the Marathi movie Anumati. His multifaceted talent also extended to popular television shows like Ghar Aaja Pardesi, Alpviraam, Jaana Na Dil Se Door, Sanjeevni, and Indradhanush.
