Mumbai Police Arrests Another Person For Sending Death Threats to Mukesh Ambani
According to the Crime Branch, the accused has sent threatening emails to Ambani and other big industrialists as well

Another person has been arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly giving death threats to industrialist Mukesh Ambani. The accused, who had sent the mail, was nabbed from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar.

According to the Crime Branch, the accused has sent threatening emails to Ambani and other big industrialists as well.

Earlier on Saturday, a 19-year-old man was arrested from Telangana for allegedly sending several death threats to Ambani. The accused has been identified as Ganesh Ramesh Vanapardhi. After being arrested, the accused was produced in court and was sent to police custody till November 8.

The Reliance Industries Chairman received three death threats with an extortion demand of Rs 400 crore recently.

In the last threat email on Monday, a police officer revealed that the sender and email ID remain the same, with only the extortion amount increasing. The email has been traced back to Belgium. Consequently, security around Ambani’s Antilia residence has been beefed up.

The e-mail he received read, “Now the amount is 400 crore, and the police can’t track and arrest me. No matter how good your security is, only one of our snipers can kill you.”

Earlier, Ambani received an extortion-cum-death threat, warning to shoot him if he filed to pay Rs 20 crore. The industrialist received an email regarding the threat at 8:51 pm on Friday, October 27.

“The email regarding the threat was received on Friday, October 27. Soon after the matter came to light, a case was registered under sections 387 and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Gamdevi PS of Mumbai,” police said in a statement.

Later on October 28, the Reliance Industries chairman received another death threat from the same email account. However, this time the caller demanded Rs 200 crore, saying that the amount had been increased due to “non-response to the previous email.”

The second mail reads, “U have not responded to our email now the amount is 200 crore otherwise the death warrant is signed”.
